Leonardo will take you to Cariati, a small town of few thousand people, mostly fishermen and carpenters, in Calabria, Italy. Join him and experience the warm atmosphere of his childhood when getting together at the dinner table was always a feast.

Leonardo's Ristorante & Pizzeria is located in Solvang, just few miles north of Santa Barbara, California. Leonardo invites you to taste a great variety of classic Italian dishes as well as his interpretations and his new, unique recipes.

CHEF & AUTHOR LEONARDO CURTI

Since 1997, Chef Leonardo Curti has brought the flavors of fine Italian cuisine to the Santa Ynez Valley, introducing the region’s very first wood-burning Neapolitan pizza oven. His culinary journey began in Siena, Italy, where he trained under the renowned Luppoli brothers Mauro & Marcello of Il Malborghetto di Siena. In the United States, he refined his craft at celebrated restaurants including Il Giardino and Farfalle under the mentorship of Chef Giancarlo Macchiarella.

After several years of honing his skills including a notable collaboration with Stephanie at Cicada in Los Angeles Leonardo returned to the Santa Ynez Valley, where he has become a cornerstone of the community. Today, he is the proud owner of Leonardo’s Ristorante and Leo’s Café, both beloved gathering places that reflect his passion for authentic Italian cooking and warm hospitality.

Beyond the kitchen, Leonardo embraces the valley lifestyle, enjoying horseback riding, surfing, and the vibrant community that has welcomed him as one of its own. His dedication to culinary excellence, mentorship, and community spirit continues to enrich the valley he calls home.
